This week's topic was Top Ten Books I've Read So Far in 2015 (with links to my reviews). Books are listed in no particular order.
Young Adult
These two books were recommended to me by the ladies at TheMidnightGarden.net. I don't typically read much Contemporary/Realistic Fiction, but I instantly loved Simon. He is just so lovable. I also loved Lila in A Darker Shade of Magic. She is so independent and strong willed, plus alternate London's.
Middle Grade
My true passion usually lies in middle grade and my options were pretty wide open so far this year. I enjoyed reading each of these books for various reasons, be it that they included cooking, puzzles, humor, magic, were scary or just down right fun to read. These were a few of my top picks.
So, what books would make it on your favorite reads for 2015 so far? Feel free to share your TTT links in the comments.
I'm really looking forward to reading Book Scavenger - it looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGreat list, some real favorites on it. I can't wait to read Book Scavenger, but don't know The Stars of Summer, so I'll have to look for it.
ReplyDeleteThe Stars of Summer is the sequel to All Four Stars, which has the best beginning of a MG that I've read. Plus it has food and cooking and well read that one first :)
DeleteI so need to start the Lockwood & Co. series. It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun and it was actually the cover to The Whispering Skull that first caught my attention. I'm also very interested in A Darker Shade of Magic but I promised myself I would read Vicious first and I'm hoping to get to it next month.

I like all your Middle Grade you have on here. I've been reading my son MG, so I'm always on the lookout for new ones :) The Book Scavenger and A Snicker of Magic look really good. MG is definitely on the rise. At BEA they were everywhere! Thanks for stopping by My TTT
ReplyDeleteAny BEA books that stood out to you, I'm always looking for more MG books too :)
DeleteWow, like your choices. I see many new to me book titles that I'll need to check out.

Great list! I really want to get around to reading a Darker Shade of Magic because everyone seems to love it.
ReplyDeleteKrystianna @ Downright Dystopian
A Darker Shade of Magic is on my list too! Great picks!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my TTT.
The Terrible Two looks very promising. Love Mac Barnett!
ReplyDeleteThis was a favorite for my kiddo and me. Mac Barnett's books are such fun!
DeleteI really want to read A Darker Shade of Magic.
ReplyDeleteIf you do, I'd really like to know what you think.
DeleteSimon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda is on my TBR! Sometimes recommendations from friends make me nervous (the pressure!) but sometimes they're really great. How else are we supposed to push ourselves out of our comfort zones?? I don't read a lot of MG, but I'll have to check these out. :) Great post, Brenda!
ReplyDeleteSimon is so worth it, I loved his voice and the humor was spot on. It's been described as "You’ve Got Mail starring gay teenage boys with good grammar." Plus, it will make you want to eat Oreo's and at Waffle House :)
DeleteI love the Secret Garden! It is a book that I will have to read to my daughter when she is older.;)
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
The Secret Garden was a wonderful book, hope your daughter likes it and thanks for stopping by.
