Top Ten Tuesday (TTT) Books I Loved So Much I Had to Get a Copy for My Personal Library

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week's prompt is Books I Loved So Much I Had to Get a Copy for My Personal Library:  Interesting prompt and most of these will be books from some of my favorite authors, one's that I received for review and ones that are dear to my heart.  A mixture of YA and Middle Grade.  In no particular order....

I own so many copies of this book, mostly because of the illustrations and cover.

Dream Magic by Joshua Khan is the second book in the Shadow Magic series.  I first read this as an e-book and then purchased a copy to add to my collection.

I started this as an audiobook, have it in paperback and then went back and bought the box set.

I attended a Traumatic Brain Injury Conference in 2001 where Cathy Crimmins was the guest speaker.  She talked about her husband's injury in a boating accident and his recovery.  I was inspired to pick up her book to read more of the story.

I adore Jacqueline West's books (The Books of Elsewhere series, The Collectors series, Last Things) and after reading a paperback ARC of Dreamers Often Lie, I picked up the hardcover too.  It looks so pretty next to all of her other books.

I purchased the first book and then picked up the box set at an antique store.

I first started Nevernight as a NetGalley read.  But since Jay Kristoff is a fan of endnotes in this book, which when reading the e-book version made things very challenging, I decided to order a hardcover.  It was just too hard to flip to the end of a chapter in electronic format and then flip back.  For ease of reading, and well because I really liked the book.

I first read Heidi in German, which is now kind of rusty, so I purchased the English edition so I could enjoy reading it again.

I have this on audiobook and absolutely love this book.  I purchased this one just because of the cover and to re-read it again.

When I was little my mom would let me and my sisters order one book each from the Scholastic flyer.  One year we convinced her to get the boxset.  It was so fun to share the books with them.  Since then, I've picked up the first book in the series for a reading challenge.

What book do you absolutely adore that you've purchased for your own library? Feel free to share in the comments.

  3. I still haven't read Alice in Wonderful even though I kept seeing it all the time. I honestly don't know why I have no desire to read it.

Harry Potter - I got the box set also, I think a lot of people have that.

I also have the Narnia box set though the books are quite short.

I'll list two books that I read last year that I thought was so much fun though I haven't gotten my copies yet: A problematic paradox and The unspeakable unknown by Eliot Sappingfield, this duology is crazy fun mix of creepy and science and technology and some wacky ideas.

    Have a lovely day.

  4. My HP books are the originals and they've been pretty much loved to death. I need to get a new set! Maybe one to read and one to just look pretty on my bookshelves...

    Happy TTT!

  7. I have read and loved Heidi and Harry Potter and the Narnia books and Alice and the Little House books. It's a lovely story about your mom allowing you to get the set of books.

  8. Good list! For me, the equivalent is what books did I read as an ebook and had to get a physical copy or vice versa, and I have quite a few of those (including Tolkien, Garth Nix, Chesterton, and many more!)
