TTT: Five Books I Probably Will Never Read

This weeks topic is Ten Books I Probably Will Never Read

This was a difficult topic for me.  I'm so used to having a TBR list that is toppling with books, so to sit down and think about what books that I would never read is a pretty difficult concept for my brain some how.  War and Peace and Shakespeare are the only two that came to mind pretty quick, but the others I had to think about books that I've heard about or remember thinking were not for me.  So, I guess there were only five that came to mind.

50 Shades of Grey, not high on my list of books that I'm interested in reading.

The Fault in Our Stars It just sounds so sad, I don't think I'm ready for sad.  It just seems like the kind of book that I have to be in the right frame of mind for.

War and Peace any book that is considered to be among the longest book ever written, yeah not so much.

Shakespeare  I would much rather watch a play than read Shakespeare's works. I blame my teacher in high school.  Not really, but I think it is an acquired taste.

The Kane Chronicles  I found myself satisfied with how the Red Pyramid ended, so I probably wont be picking up Throne.  Which kind of surprises me because I do enjoy Riordan's work and Egyptian mythology.

Are there any books that you probably are never going to read?  Fill free to share your TTT link in the comments.

  1. Fifty Shades made my list as well. I have seen Tolstoy on a lot of lists, I read one of his novels in high school, that was enough for me. I love Riordan's Percy Jackson, but I cannot get into the Kane Chronicles. I tried and got about halfway through Red Pyramid. I put it down and never went back. :)

  3. You are right...I'd much rather hear Shakespeare than read him!

Solid list. I gave up on W&P a few years ago and I hope I never go back.

  4. I've notice War and Peace on a lot of lists. And I can definitely see why! I know I won't be reading it.
I'm also the same with Shakespeare.

  5. You definitely have to be in the right frame of mind for Fault in Our Stars! I held off reading the book for such a long time because I knew it'd be sad. One of my cousins had leukemia when she was only 9 years old, and I refused to read a "cancer" book. But one day I decided to pick it up off the bookshelf, just to see what all the fuss was about, and I was totally hooked. It's not your typical "cancer" book - Hazel Grace is so snarky and it was actually quite humorous. And I really loved the movie :)

    1. I think it's so difficult too because I feel like I know how it's going to end already. Plus it's sad *whines* :) Maybe if I need a good cry I'll come back to it.

  7. I have had The Fault in Our Stars on my shelf for about 2 years. I want to read it, but I am afraid I will be too sad. I am sure there are books I will never read- but I just need to think of them. :) Interesting list!

    1. That was my problem too, I don't normally think of the books that I probably wouldn't read. I usually suffer from to many books that I want to read, have to read :)
